Understanding MAG Portal Setup
MAG boxes do not use apps downloaded from a store — instead, they connect to an IPTV service via a portal URL entered directly in the device settings. This portal URL is specific to your MAG subscription and contains the server address where your channel list and credentials are stored. When your MAG box boots, it automatically contacts this portal URL, authenticates your MAC address, and loads your full channel list. This one-time setup is all that is required — your MAG box will connect automatically every time it starts.
Pro Tip: Your MAG box has a unique MAC address printed on a sticker on the bottom of the device. This is the identifier used to authenticate your subscription. Step-by-Step MAG Box Setup
Turn on your MAG box and connect it to your TV via the provided HDMI cable. Connect an Ethernet cable from your MAG box to your router — wired connection is strongly recommended for MAG devices. From the MAG home screen, navigate to System Settings > Servers > Portals. In the Portal 1 Name field, enter 'XiroTV'. In the Portal 1 URL field, enter the portal URL provided in your XiroTV credentials email exactly as written. Leave all other fields blank unless instructed otherwise by XiroTV support. Press OK to save, then navigate back to the main menu and select 'Load Portal'. Your channels will load within 30–60 seconds.

Navigating the MAG Interface
The MAG interface is clean and TV-optimised. Channels are organised in a grid format accessible via the TV/Radio button on the remote. Use the arrow keys to browse channels and OK to tune to a selected channel. Pressing the EPG button opens the Electronic Programme Guide showing current and upcoming content for the next 7 days. The VOD button accesses the on-demand library, including movies and TV series. The F1–F4 function buttons on the MAG remote provide quick access to favourites, channel search, and display settings.
MAG Box Troubleshooting
If your MAG box displays a 'Portal Error' or 'Authorisation Failed' message, the most common causes are an incorrect portal URL, a MAC address mismatch, or a subscription that has not yet been activated. Verify the portal URL by copying it character by character from your credentials email. If the URL is correct, contact XiroTV support via WhatsApp with your MAC address and order reference — the team can verify your subscription status and MAC registration within minutes. For general performance improvements, reset your MAG box to factory settings (System Settings > General > Factory Reset) if it has not been reset in over 12 months, as accumulated cache can slow portal loading times.
